Obviously its not all of them, but some.

What you think of this boy? He's got quite a bit of blue/grey/silver... not sure what color you would call him. BUT he is lovely.

A future lady for him... Isn't she gorgeous? So delicate... Love her

Mr. Ed

His hopeful lady... Now... why I think she has an injury (hoping) The other night when my kid broke his arm, I asked the neighbor kid to put my birds away if I wasn't home by 10. Well, I wasn't and he did. Last night, I was helping them get their birds moved around and he was quite a bit more aggressive than I think was necessary, and I am a bit worried that he may have grabbed her by her leg. She if favoring it very much. Of course she could have done it herself too... But, I just don't know. I will not ask him for help again. I am not happy...
She's so lovely too. The leg she is favoring is the one you see on my hand...

A barred boy, he's a little thing, smaller than the rest.

The one with the funny comb, definitely think it's a boy, look at those wattles. Isn't he pretty?

Another girl for Ed.

LOVE the colouring on the first bird. They are all nice, but I really like that colouring.

Shame about the miss with the sore leg. Hopefully it picks up, but keep a close eye on her. I thought we had a bird with a foot injury once (Mocha) but I was wrong there.

Give the boy next door a treat for helping out, chocolate coated ball bearing! Choc for helping, bearing for being rough.

My evening update.

Crispy Chicken strips, mash, gravy and home made coleslaw. Not teh best knife skills, but was hard to tell at the speed the strips were eaten!

KFC, eat you heart out lol

Hat tip to the crispy chicken thread on here. I have never made this before, and it was 'junk food' good. It's been years since I have had KFC, and this was honestly better than my last experience with the take away version.

Also, made a roost for the rooster box. Grabbed a old pallet support, a quick plane, screwed it down to some off cut channel. If it needs to be higher, I will flip the channel and screw it back down.

Also got a shot showing the corner parts I did yesterday.

Floor vent and caulking to go, then tests.

Not yet Oz,

I didn't work on it the last two nights, but I have been chipping away at it today. Running low on off cuts, but working on the floor vent now. Apart from caulking it is nearly there.

Hope to have it finished and tested out this weekend.

Had one of the BA roo's start crowing this week at almost 11 weeks old, hope the other's don't catch on just yet. I want them bigger hahahaha. Funny 'teen' type of crow.

I have only talked with one this morning, they said they have not heard a thing yet.

I try stay on top of the feathers and droppings to minimise 'over the fence' impact. Crowing at the moment is not very loud, but I am sure they will get stronger at it. The BA's will be processed, our BV may be given away to some friends with property and we are going to try keep two Araucana males.

Going for some Olive/Mint Eggers down the track.

Rooster box is for the Arau's, they don't need it yet but I might start throwing all the boy's in there once it is done, hope they settle in easier then, the 10 girls will stay in the normal coop.

Just a small update with the rooster box.

It's almost done, final check over and caulking tomorrow, then I can stick a thermometer in there and see how it goes, will also try find something noisy to compare inside to outside noise levels. I think I have some dodgy decibel meter app in my phone to see if I can get a backyard result.

Pretty much all out of the capping, so had to join left over angle parts. Here is the hole in the floor. Just putting in one mesh floor vent.

Angle capping on the bottom.

Added the mesh flap, sit flush with the floor, has a single hinge on it.

Closed up.

As it is now. Just want to run around it with a file and smooth over some sharp corners, and hit it with some silicon caulking. IF I get a chance tomorrow I would also like to make some legs or some sort of timber frame. I have a few lengths of some solid pine down the side of the house that should work perfect.
