Our Maine Duck House

I think this would also be a great addition to the Articles section if you had the time @3bird
Since R is a writer by trade, he may just do that. He'll have to read up on how that is accomplished. As a fulltime artist, K could illustrate the article with a few scientific illustrations of silver Appleyards in their new "habitat." :)

IT LOOKS LIKE YOU JUST GO TO THE TOP OF THE PAGE AND CHOICE 'ARTICLES' WRITE AND POST :) I THINK DUCK FANS WILL LOVE IT..

We finally got around to getting the roof over the run finished. Once it's done and the predator apron is installed, we won't be locking them in the house at night. Maybe tonight?

The ducks kept an eye on us as we worked. You may notice there are only six in this picture. Poor Amelia was attacked last week, and she has not been re-integrated back into the flock yet. :-(

Looks great.

How is Amelia doing haven't gotten an update lately.
Thank's for asking! She's doing alright. Slow but stead flock reintegration ongoing. I posted a wee update this morning. Right now, we have her and two of the hens (Stella, who is her best bud, and a yet to be named duck) separated from the other four by some temporary wire fencing inside their fenced area. The three girls are getting along fine, but there is occasional through the fence squabbling between Amelia and, in particular, one of the other hens. Stella usually intervenes, but we've stepped in a few times. Little by little. :)
