Our Mixed Flock Journey!

I'm a mean mom. I locked the big girls in the enclosed pen with their treat. The littles are wising up and came out into the open pen with me. It's much more peaceful this way...lol
I'll let the bigs out soon.

They're getting so big. I think I can expect eggs from some of them the first part of September.

What are Aquilas? Never heard of them…
I hadn't heard of them either. We liked the sound of them, so we thought we'd give them a try. They're supposed to be very docile and good egg layers.
They were developed in Georgia in the early 2000's. A cross between Black Australorp, Rhode Island Red, and White Plymouth Rock breed.
I just looked up all of that information. I couldn't remember it on my own...lol
