Our Mixed Flock Journey!

It was a nice visit Debby and I soaked up as much as I could!
I've been looking at travel apps, they have a couple that show the weather as you're traveling along a route...I might just download a couple and see which one I like best!

Good idea! That mid-west weather can change in a heart beat so it's important to keep on top of it!

I know, it can be crazy out there. When I helped my daughter move to Iowa, we had to outdrive a storm, it dumped 15" of snow behind us in the town we had planned to spend our first night in! We wound up driving all of the way from Spokane to Rapid City, SD before we could stop...over 14 hours of drive time!

We had a nice visit with our son and his family! 💗 DIL is doing well and will actually be back to work next Tuesday! Baby is growing so fast, grandpa and I held him as much as we could. We will be heading to Oklahoma with our son on January 7th and come back the 13th or 14th.😢 DIL and GS will be flying, I will be making the 4 hour round trip to pick her & baby up at the airport, while the guys offload! I'm just hoping that we don't encounter to much inclement weather...there is the potential for a lot of snow on our route.
I'm so glad you got some grand baby time. Sounds like you have a real adventure coming up. I hope that you can enjoy the time together and the journey.

If you find a good one i would be interested as well. Everytime we make the trip around the great lakes to see my daughter in Detroit I worry about the lake effect snow which has no bearing on the weather here. I have been caught out once or twice. It would be nice to have an app like that.

Just contact me before you venture there. I'll tell you if its snowing :old
Buffalo New York gets about 80 inches, and its all lake water.
We get it here but it only stretches about 40 miles inland. Northern Indiana, and Southern Mich, get it, and is called the snow belt. One of the benefits, are all the fruit orchards growing in that region. Good supply of aqua.

Don’t forget to take info for alternative motels in case you can’t make it to your destination because of weather. They fill up quick when the snow starts to fall.

Has anyone seen Rene roaming around? She must be on another walk about.
Hi Debby, thank you, I'm here, just haven't had much time to come say hi! I keep telling myself that things will slow down and I will have more me time...:D

Hiding is their only real defense aside from a big mean rooster.
I have six roosters...they are all so young, but they now know to truly watch the sky and have been doing an amazing job of alerting everyone to danger! At least I think it's the roosters...could be the hens too! Hopefully, we won't suffer anymore losses from the sky!
