Our Mixed Flock Journey!

Thank you Bob! It was good to be with them. 💞 I love to travel, but I'm not looking forward to this trip...it will be hard to come back home and leave them so far away! 😢

I'm also a planner, but I'm not the one planning out the details for this trip and that puts me a little on edge...I think that means I'm a bit of a control freak....:gig
I think you may be right with that assessment. 😁

Hi there! Everything's going okay! I'm kind of ready for Christmas...it will be so fun to be able to enjoy a first Christmas with our grandbaby. 💞

Sadly our daughter and her husband won't be here like they were hoping to! :( SIL is exposed 5 days a week to Covid patients and my daughter has to go to the hospital on occasion, they don't want to take a chance of passing it on, if they get it! My daughter just got the new vaccine yesterday, but she had a reaction last night and had a pretty high fever...but they don't know if it was a reaction to the shot, because of how high the fever was or if she has Covid...she is being tested today! I think it was a reaction! SIL gets the vaccine next week!

Are you all ready for Christmas?
Because of how the vaccine is made it is highly likely that those who get the vaccine will not feel well the next day and will exhibit a fever. It is to be expected.

Hi Rene, best wishes that your daughter is better asap.
Thank you Debby! 💞 Her test came back negative...which is what I was thinking would happen. She had to be tested again today...hospital work requirement. She's feeling somewhat better, but is still dragging!

This is the wrong time of the year to be thinking things will slow down. They keep going faster here.
Same thing here...I'm afraid it's not going to slow down for me until we are finished with our woodworking and remodel projects! We will also be traveling back to Oklahoma in March for the baby's first birthday, that should be a fun trip! 💞 I feel like I'm on a roller coaster!

I'm not surprised she had a reaction...they were surprised that her fever was so high (my kids always got high fevers when they were sick...sometimes they would have a fever without other major symptoms , kept me on my toes, but also taught me not to panic when they were little) plus she couldn't keep food down...both of those are Covid symptoms...not vaccine symptoms. That's why the hospital required her to be tested. Thankfully her test came back negative, but she had to have a second test today...we'll find out about that tomorrow! Her husband had to be home from the clinic yesterday until her results came, he was able to go back to work today!

Thank you...I hope so too, I'm going to check on her in just a bit to see how she's doing! The news is definitely depressing, so I only check it occasionally right now!

My husband picked up our Prime Rib(my favorite) yesterday and I will also be cooking a ham...it's Christmas so I try to make sure everyone has something they like! We will be doing potato's also and we always make a fresh veggie platter with Uncle Dan's dressing (the best ranch dressing/dip there is...imo)! I'm also doing my baking on Thursday, I will be making another fresh pumpkin pie...at my husbands request and it's also my youngest sons favorite. Along with that will be pecan pie bars (I like these better than pecan pie) and Giant Ginger Cookies...I usually do a few more specialty desserts and cookies, but since our gathering will be smaller, I'm cutting back a little!
We usually have a huge meal but I decided we should just keep it simple.
I love pumpkin pie from scratch. The flavor is just so much better! I’m so happy yours came out well.

good news! I’ll bet it’s a relief.

Thank you IM! It was a huge relief! She and her hubs have been super careful, they have to be because of their jobs and she told me it would just suck if she came down with Covid when she finally just got the vaccine!

I would like to have kept it more simple, but we will have enough here that are used to me doing things a certain way, that would be disappointed if I changed it up too much...spoiled bunch...:D

Oh I’m catching some flack lol. I’m just not doing all that for the five of us when we have to wait for my daughter to get home at like 1900 before we even eat.

Glad she's feeling a little better and the first test was negative!
