Our Mixed Flock Journey!

1830 miles round trip & we are finally home. Thank you everyone for the safe travel wishes.💞
The pictures I'm sharing today are of the Columbia River Gorge, between Portland, Oregon & Biggs Junction, Or. Growing up I spent almost every 4th of July in this area. Dad would pull us out of school 2 weeks early & we would hit the road to follow the cherry harvest, starting in California then Oregon, Washington & ending in Montana in the Flathead lake area. Needless to say I have a lot of memories along this stretch of highway by the beautiful Columbia river.
Rooster Rock, not the best picture but had to share it! 😁

I've always loved this tunnel. Dad would always honk the horn going through & we always did the same for our kids.

The beautiful Columbia! The landscape is changing as we go along! Soon there will be no more trees!

My brother's and I always wanted to buy this island and put a house on it. Someone is living my dream...there is a house on the other side.

This section of river gets a lot of wind. Wind surfing is a popular activity here.

We will be crossing the river here, the bridge is below the area where you see the furthest wind machines. It's about 2 hours to our house, over a mountain pass, where the same water we now see has already flowed past our home!

Finally home! The strawberries & the rest of the garden have grown beautifully!

We are working on the AC today, but my son pulled me away for a bit of fun! We have a lot of trees & a lot of wind, so that means lots of debris in the pool. Before we went to CA, hubs bought me a trash pump & set up a portable vacuum system for my pool. It does an amazing job.

Now for the fun. While we were gone, my son built me a remote control skimmer to make it easier to clean up after a windy day. So much fun and it does a fantastic job!

This is so much more fun than just using a net. Tell him great job! 👍
