Our Mixed Flock Journey!

Should be my last tree post, for hopefully, quite awhile.

Hubs got the tree cut up today and started loading it, so he can move it off of the lawn, I'm leaving tomorrow.

Filled the hole where the trees came out with rocks. I told him he'd better mark it, so he never asks me to dig a hole there! He says, "I'll mark it with this plastic bag", goofball! :gig💗

We have a lot of rock on our property, above and below, small, big, bigger and huge...lol

Second tree is down! Yay, such a relief.

Hubs chopped through the roots. It's great that we could use this method, so that the root system went with the tree.

He tied a rope to the top of the tree and ran it through a pulley, then chained it to our pickup.

Down it goes. Sorry it's a little wonky, I was driving the pickup and shooting video at the same time.
Hubs view.
Would not have wanted this to get much taller.

Felling trees is very scary and I'm nervous every single time. But, Dale is very careful and figures out what needs to be done with each individual one. They are all different and have to be well planned. I'm so glad he's done for now, the work is so hard on his body. We do have one more to take down in the front yard, but it can wait a while.
