Our neighbor is looking to rehome "Snow" a Pyrenees

Has anyone tried contacting Texas Great Pyr Rescue? http://txpyrs.org
Looks like they have a FB page, and volunteer locations (?) in, maybe, Bastrop and San Antonio. Disclaimer: I have no experience with or knowledge about this group. Thanks for your efforts.
My wife was looking into that earlier. Their FB page had some oddball questions creating a barrier to join.

How sad! Those dogs belong in colder climate. They are a favorite around where I am. I’d take him if he were closer to me.
Transport can make that all possible. We have permission now to send him wherever he needs to be and not tied to a tree.

I don’t think transporting him now would be ideal, unless transport could provide AC. It would be a ways to transport, I’m in NW Montana.

The people at Texas Great Pyr Rescue are really nice, but like most dog rescues... can be a little nutty. I know several of the fosters and they are great people, but they do require a $ donation to accept a surrendered dog. I don't know how much it is and I don't know if they would wave that considering its not actually your dog, but somehow I doubt it.

There are groups that transport to the PNW. We got our dog last summer from one, though I was not a fan of the organization. But dogs do routinely come out of Texas to here and the upper Midwest.

I wouldn’t suggest using a group like that in this case given the already critical stray situation in Texas, just mentioning them to show that thousands of dogs take a 2200 mile freedom ride, if someone wants to go that route.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that type of dog breed, a natural livestock and poultry watch dog?
