Love the before and after pics!!! I was already in awe of you, your daughter and your work but the home transformation is truly amazing, too! Lots of hard work, sweat, aching bods and most of all, love went into your projects-truly inspiring. You've created a warm and beautiful place for your daughter, her grandmother and many feathered friends to call home-Awesome!!! Again, God Bless you all and have a wonderful 2010!!! Happy New Year!

The chimney sweep/wood stove person was out a few weeks ago and moved the stove to the specifications and put new pipe and the heat shield that you can see on it. I never really knew how to properly tend the wood stove, but he taught her grandma how and wow....that thing keeps the whole house warm!! The new photos that I took tonight show it in the proper place with the new pipe and heat shield.

Beyond wow - how long did it take to do all of this????You are an incredible mom. The renovations looks better than the versions on tv. Prayers go out to your daughter and fantastic family. I hope she will be home soon and signing up for the chickens forum. Love to all.

The major work was completed within 4 months...and that was a pure miracle. I work full-time as a research nurse and my daughter, Robin, was a full-time student taking 15 hours at the University of Florida, worked 30 hours a week at a fine dining restaurant here plus driving to Orlando for Army Reserve drill one weekend a month. Since then there have been lots of smaller projects...and it still has work that needs to be done. The little things that just never seem to be completed.

She'll be home next April and is looking forward to working on those small projects. YEAH!!!!! We miss her terribly and are very proud of her. She's made some great choices that will serve her well in her life.......and she has met a wonderful young man who asked her to marry him when she was home on R&R in October.

Thank everyone for your encouragement and appreciation for her service. I sent her the link to this thread and she will respond as soon as she has a chance.

GO MOM!...Wonderful job and how gratifying...My hats off to both you and your daughter!...A big thank you for your daughter serving our country...She is going to love her new barn when she gets home!
