I think our hens are fine, but I wanted to post here just to double check or get advice. We picked up 6 hens last Tuesday (4/23) they were 18 weeks old at the time and raised confined with a few hundred chickens in a tight barn. We noticed that since we have moved them to our coop, they have become visibly thinner. They did not eat much the first week, however, they have been eating and drinking significantly more this week. My guess is that they just had to get used to the new space, and actually having space to run around all day. Is this normal, or should I be looking for other problems?

If they are eating, drinking, and acting otherwise normal they are fine. Chickens hate change and generally stop laying for a period of time after moving to a new home.
