That is Marsh! Short for Marshmallow. He is a white Cochin Bantam. He was about 10 or 11 weeks old in those pictures. He is a little sweetie pie. He seems to be low man in the pecking order. I still have 5 roosters after I already sold 7-9 (2 Silkies I was not sure of). I am trying to sell 3 other roosters and I was going to try to keep Marsh along with the Silver Penciled Cochin Rooster. Now I am not sure. He may need to find a new home just to keep him from being picked on. Too bad that you are not closer. Marsh is special!

Here is a couple new pictures of Marsh!

We started framing out our nest box. It will have a lid that lifts up for easy access to the nests and eggs. It will be big enough for 4 individual nests. Hopefully it will be done this weekend and I will add more pictures.

Gorgeous Guy. You are right......I wish I were closer. I would take him off your hands. I have 2 cochin hens and 2 silkie hens. Both breeds are bantam.

Marsh found his "forever" home today. He now has a nice little teenage girl to love him. Plus he will be an "only" rooster with a little harem of his own. She also plans on showing him at the fair in February. I will miss that little guy!

Well we finished the nest boxes this weekend. I read on another thread that hens like privacy. So I took 3 cheap bandanas and laid them on plastic feed bags and covered them with a mixture of white glue and water to make them alittle stiffer and hopefully more durable. We only have 4 pullets right now and not sure how many Guinaes are hens. Can't tell with them. You can only tell by their voices, we have both male and female.

I added a small piece of base board molding to hold the nesting materials in the boxes.

Here is everyone checking out the new additions. The roosters where real interested

Outside view.

Each side is wide enough for 2 hens, so I may have to put more dividers in later. We will see.
