thanks everyone - good thing we winterized when it started getting cold... we use a coroplast material for a wind barrier - it is usually a little warmer inside the coop - all 4x sides are protected

I have never seen snow in Dec here

This is so awesome!! and exactly what I have been looking for. Just dragged DH inside from mowing grass to show him what his next project is going to be. Could you give me some more details about the winterization that you did? We live in the foothills and get much more snow that you do down in Albermarle.

I am so glad I found this post. My wife and I are just starting out with chickens and amazingly our coop/pen looks a lot like yours. We know we are not completely happy with ours but you have given us some great ideas to complete our coop. Thanks for posting and when we finish I will post up a few pics of our coop.
