Thanks all! Cute name Shy-Anne! I will listen to all advice on teaching her around the poultry. Right now I will have to get her a collar. She has never had one on her. Bless her heart, I took her big sleeping bag down to the basement with her water. Then took her down there. She just laid on her big thick bed and went to sleep. She doesn't seem concerned that she is down there. There are lights that stay on down there and we are up and down putting wood in the furnace 24/7. I will take her outside tomorrow. I am afraid to let her loose much do to not having a collar. Thank goodness we live in the middle of 82 acres so she should be safe from traffic. The other dogs have never gone to the road. Say a prayer this little/big girl makes it guarding the place.

You are so right. Shih-Tzu are the best dogs in the world for lovin'. Not a mean bone in their bodies. Even the turkeys pin the poor things against the house if I don't keep a good eye on them when they are outside. They couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag. Even Lucy, my fav hen comes inside once in awhile and heads for the kitchen and dog bowl. They eat with her. LOL

They certainly are!! My poor tzu got chased twice by my "lay-dies" and now is so cautious about going outside.

I feel so bad for the dear. She is just thee sweetest girl ever. My other tzu will go out willingly with me but walks stiff legged by the chickens. Now, my sons chihuahua will boldly trot through all of them to snag food, but then, the chicks will chase her if it is swinging from her mouth.. Dogs and chicks!! it's either them after the chickens (not mine!) or the chicks after them (mine sometimes).. We all pretty peaceful here, just my one girl tzu, just cant 'get over it' and wont hang with the the rest of us unless on our lap....Thats a Tzu for ya!

I have a 4.5 month old great pyranees mix named Dallas. He already weighs 40 lbs and eats almost 8 cups of puppy food a day!!! Best dog in the world tho! What a temperment! He's a love.
