Our Easter Eggers hatched mid May 2010 and finally we believe we have our 6th out of 6 laying hens (Princess Jasmine). The day after Christmas!

Today my wife found a darker green egg in the middle of the coop with silver/blue feathers stuck to it. She's been checking out the nest boxes for days and I believe she got run out by the bigger girls and chose to drop her load on the coop floor instead. She started "sitting" there yesterday and I thought at first it was because she was cold and wanted to be nearer the heater. I was a tiny bit disappointed that we have a second green layer (we were secretly hoping for a nice robin's blue egg), but hey she's such a nice chicken....and gorgeous too. Having my flock all producing eggs in the dead of winter is a blessing in itself

The egg on the left is Goldielock's and the egg on the right is Jasmine's.

Ill bet that 95% of the people that read this won't even know what Boxing day is.

Hey hey now.... even in WV we know it's the day after Christmas when the Canadians and European's all box up Christmas. For us WV types - we just leave the decorations up till next year
