We are so excited that our little "alice" has hatched out 3 chicks over the last 24 hours! We only got our very first hens in january this year, we live in the subberbs of nottingham, england. Our neighbours seem to really enjoy our hens and two (unplanned) roosters as much as we do. All the children at school have been just as excited as the rest of our family at the prospect of us having chicks. Yesterday - day 25- we came down to 1 baby still damp, then this morning two more which is perfect as we have 3 children so no one feels left out. What a joy they are already. We just hope that everything go's well with them at that they continue to thrive. Our little alice has been an amazing broody, she hasn't moved from her eggs an is still sitting on 2 as well as the chicks. One question for you all, how much longer is it possible for the other eggs to hatch out? Will she leave them after so long, or do i remove them if they haven't hatched? how do i put pics on?

Congratulations! What a good mommy Alice is! As for how long she will "set"on the rest of her clutch, I'm not certain. I'm sure someone will have good advice about that for you. Aren't chickens just the best?! Wish more people would find that out. Have fun with the new babies. Maybe if you could, post some "family" pictures?

Pix! Pix!

It's easy - they have it so well set up on this forum. Look at the toolbar at the top of the page and click on "uploads". It will open a separate window that allows you to upload a picture from your computer to the site - click "Browse" choose the picture, double click on it and then press "Submit".

Then copy the link that appears beneath the thumbnail and paste it into your post.

bawkbawkbawk right i must have done something different that time, what i don't know! Thanks for your help
