It's very dry here in the winter. We do have some ventilation on the sides, but it's very easy to fix and add more. Our coop has 12 square feet of ventilation at the top. I also clean the coop and run 2-4 times daily, so there is no ammonia build up. It doesn't smell at all in there. The best part is that I don't have to walk through any snow to get to the coop or run!
