I was raised on a chicken farm in Jewett City CT, daughter of an immigrant farmer who passed in DEC 2013, and a stubborn ol' Ma still oin the garden in NH. Farming folks on both sides; Russian/Polish Jews.
I tried may hand at chicken'n back in NH in '85, and meat rabbits in 2011-12-13, and now, as a last great push, will do it again in a more "urban" setting in Clarksville, TN.
We are great at table gardening, canning, alternative heat/water sources, etc., and being all-round ready for fending for ourselves. BUT NOW we have grandchildren who we fear will miss out on the joys, pain, and laughter of "farming" without the assist of the computer and television, or Mommy dragging them away for frozen pizza!
It is our (and your) obligation to share the knowledge (and once again, the laughter) you have gleaned...sort of like a good joke; what good is it if you don't pass it on!
Yup,
Crack a Beer, 'cause we're All Clucked Up in Clarksville.
