out side egg shell

the out side of the egg is cracked open and off but the inside membrane is still in tac. is this normal , should i help it along or is there no hope for the chick

Leave it like that. I've seen it happen with my hatches and upon close examination I found the chick did rip a small tear in the membrane through which it could breathe.
