That's crazy! I wouldn't sell a hand reared one for that much.

Yes it’s a huge difference….budgies are $25 each on the high end

Tiels are about the same here but budgies are $50 now in petsmart

Cockatiels would certainly be interesting. And the price tag is much more agreeable than some of the other birds out there. I just came up with a possibly brilliant idea. I have a fairly large carport on the side of my workshop. Its somewhere around 25'x30'x10'. I wanted to do something bigger but the more I look at this carport the more im thinking I can turn a project that would probably run me north of $5k into a project that would cost $300.

We’ve often discussed using a carport frame if we ever had to build another one….it’s a good idea!!!!
