We keep our bags of feed, oyster shell, treats, grit and other numerous chicken items in our kitchen. I would prefer only people food go there though.

Any recommendations for good outside storage bins to fit it all in? Preferably water and bug resistant. Nothing complicated, just something to safely store everything in with good space.

We use an ice box for the feed & metal garbage can for everything else. The ants were getting into the metal can. Grrr

I use metal garbage cans, and make sure that the lids are on tight. They are in my coop, on blocks, and the lids are covered in empty feed bags, because the chickens will sit on them at times. I don't have a separate food storage area out there, but it would be nice.
Metal garbage cans are not weatherproof, and need to be on something to keep them off the damp floor.
A used freezer would be wonderful, but there's no place to have it out there either.

I use 5 gallon buckets with gamma seal lids for a smaller quantity of feed, grit, oyster shells and treats outside but protected from the elements.

What is your climate/location?
Do you have room in the coop itself to store stuff?
