I have 2 week old baby chicks they are getting quite a bit of feathers would it be ok to set them out side while I clean their box? I'm guessing I probably shouldn't but I just had to know for sure.
I Have for short periods of time put young chicks out in warm weather in a travel cage to do just that .. clean cages and let them have a tiny taste of life to come.. It never seemed to hurt any of them .. Though I dont know if it will be reccomended by others I just thought I would share that I have .. I wouldnt if the ground was wet or it was too cold. But thats just my oppinion
That's what I always did to clean out brooders etc. As long as it's fairly warm and the ground isn't wet, sure go for it! Pretty sure it's the easiest way to clean. Just make sure either someone watches them or you have them in a covered cage like a dog crate.
