Ovation?

New to BYC and chickens!
Simple question, what is the "ovation" in my profile about?

If people find a post particularly informative, helpful, supportive, etc they can give it an "ovation" (similar to a "like" on facebook) by clicking hte little "thumbs up" icon at the bottom right corner of the post.

I am still new to site. I do not know much either. But, you can use ovation button to leave a comment on a post. It also tells people you found the post useful. I think the site uses it for contests too. There is a limit of ovates that you have. And that replenishes every few days ( not real sure).

Thank you for posting link to thread regarding ovations. I read entire thread. I now know a lot more about the green thumbs up button. Will use ovates more wisely. Would love to see a "like" button on site.
