Ovaview high intensity egg candler

Got my Ovaview egg candler today. Sooner than I thot. Got it for present for my husband. Made him real happy.
Doesn't work very good in brite lite or dim lite. Has to be completely dark. Still happy with it though.
We cod see veins thru our darkest brown egg. Swear I could even see some feathers but not for sure.
We cod see absolutely everything in egg. Was happy with it. Just hope it sees through green and chocolate
Eggs too. Was gonna send it back if it didn't work way I wanted it to but I was pleasantly surprised. Can anyone
Tell me at wat point we are sposed to throw eggs away if u can't see veins. Is it a sure sign its not going to
Hatch if u can't see veins at 1 week? Or maybe 2 weeks? First time doing thisand not exactly sure about it.
Heard it could hurt your good eggs if u left them in the whole time if their not gonna hatch. Or does it even matter?

She's my Silver Grey Dorking! She's a sweetheart and I'm lucky enough to have a Roo to match. (he's in the background of the picture!) I want to get them in a pen together and get some eggs in the incubator from them. I started out with 4, but now just have the 2.

Thanks!! They are so pretty!!

Theyr absolutely wonderful. Seems like a little roo attitude to me. Looks a little
Bigger than others too or mayb cause he's in front of camera. Has a fierce look in his eye
Like its trying to intimidate u. Have u found out if its a rooster or
Not? Unfortunately me and my husband were in stores and buying chicks from hatcheries
All last spring and summer long cause our neighbors dogs
Kept killin our chikens. The ones that wod act like that were almost alwaysroosters.
also a good way to tell is if they have bare shoulders at bout 2 or3 weeks old.
I thot my baby chicks had lice or mites and was always worried bout it til I read somewhere teyr
More than likely roos if they have bare shoulders bout that age

Very cool that your husband was excited.

I toss eggs at 10 days that show no signs of development - totally clear. I will also toss those that look like they started but quit - they will have a dark spot, but no veining.

Sometimes I do leave them in, if I have a question or hope - but there are some members who have had dud eggs and quitter eggs explode in the bator, and that is a mess you just do not want to smell.

I also candle and toss at 18 days - quitters that I can tell for sure are gone - all others I leave in.
