I was thinking the same thing of mine!
Our 3 girls from last year started to molt this fall and went from an egg a day, each, to only one or two eggs daily from all three. At the same time, this years flock started to lay. Slowly. So I was getting about 3 to 8 eggs daily all through winter from our 16 hens. But just recently the numbers went down. I thought maybe because of the snow being gone, they are back out in the woods and hiding eggs out there. But they were all barn bound today with sleet and rain. We got only 3 eggs total.
I have two EE's that I got as adults and are over two years old. We get one green egg every couple of days. I don't know which is laying, or if they are talking turns. But they went on strike a month or so ago and I didn't see a green egg til just the other day!
