Over build, over budget, build

I was thinking of that but I want them fully removable for our 110 degree summers I also thought of slide off hinges for the best of both worlds. One of the reasons they are still raw wood and not finished. I dont know what I want to do 100%

I have about 5 square feet of ventilation open 24/7 in the sofits so im not worried.

The color was one of the first ones me and my girlfriend both liked. I was going to go a lighter green but I wanted something that popped. I will be moving within the next few years or so. The property is a corner lot with kinda an open yard and I want a conversation peice seeing how you will be able to see it from the street.

Wild Pansy : Behr paint from home depot by the way. In hine sight maybe I should have done the hen house gray and the trim the blueish purple.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to use purple paint for a coop! We are using purple because it is my granddaughters "second" favorite color. My wife said we could not have a pink chicken coop.... :)

It rains in the summer too.

Go for it!
But...how will you remove them...or even operate them?

That's why monitor roofs re usually shorter with large overhangs,
so they can be wide open all year around.

My purple loving eyes sees the OP's coop as blue... *squints*

Then again my purple car ended up more pink than I'd originally intended, so I think I skew to more reds in my purple.

It's a mix of blue and purple I can't say for sure what it is other than the name home depot calls it lol.

Just a few random pics from the coop cam and I pulled the drone out to update it and decided to fly out the battery after it was done.

Well in my rushing to get things going this morning I did not cut down the boards for the sidewalls of the run. I dont know how I spliced it off but I did.

I first made sure the tops and bottoms were good both exactly 8foot took off 1/8 inch of both top sides. Then I just measured all of the side boards 65 and 15/16 I think it was. Home depot did a good job cutting them all the exact same length, me forgetting they need to be more in the neighborhood of 49 or 50 inches well both side walls are put together do I take them back apart to trim the extra or just let the roof over the run be a few. Inches taller then the lower part of the roof on the hen house.

I'll ask the question I asked my husband when he had one post about 2" out of line.

A. Yes, it's just a chicken coop and the chickens won't care.

B. Can you stand to look at it for the next 20 years knowing what you know?

DH moved the post. ;)
