Over excited/ impatient due to hatch 28th May

Yes! Impatient incubater right here! :frow

Have muscovies due to hatch saturday. Two have externally pipped already. I hate ducks, they're sooooo slow!! But gosh, aren't ducklings the cutest.

Oh yeah, and I also have 7 pheasant eggs that I wildly miscalculated due date on, I thought it was last sunday, but I looks like it's still 5 days left. lol

Good luck to everyone!

I just thought of a question, if the temp was to high (38 Celsius) for the first week or so then turned to to 37.5 C for the rest of the time roughly when would it hatch, I'm not sure if you can calculate it but I figured I should ask.

If due day is today, the high temp has obviously not affected the time. Have you candled them today? Not to scare you, but high temps early on can potentially damage the fetus and cause problems. It might be worth a check up if you think they're running late.

Pheasant eggs wow that’s going to be interesting to see how they turn out ! Defiantly have to post photos of them when they hatch :)
I agree definitely candle the eggs maybe tomorrow morning if their is still no sign of pipping over night
Good luck !!

I candeled them and the veins seemed to be smaller, I'm not sure if that's because it's preparing to hatch or something else. I also see a claw like shape at the edge of the shell. Im not sure if that's normal. But I was really worrying about them until I put one up to my ear and I felt it pecking!!!! So now I'm staying up late monitoring it. This is also my first hatch so any additional advice would be amazing, and good luck to everyone else as well!!

If the air bubble is huge and you see like a beak moving in it, they've internally pipped. They're getting ready for exiting, 12-24 hours and you have chicks! :ya

I candeled it and yes the air bubble is huge but I don't see a beak moving just a large shadow where the chick is but I can hear it (it's very light) pecking but it does appear weaker and less often than before. I also don't have one of the candling things (we go the eggs kind by surprise so we weren't fully prepared)so I use my phone light and hopefully I'll see something in the morning.

That sounds normal. The hatching must run its natural course. There's a lot of things that need to happen in the last day before the chick is ready to come out of its shell, and there's really nothing to do except wait. Which can be really tough...

I have two duck eggs that externally pipped (made a little hole in the shell to breathe) over a day ago, and my fingers itch to help them, but I know I shouldn't, cause they're not ready for the world yet. Argh! Won't they hurry up!

Yeah I feel the same I finally went to bed and when I woke up it wasn't hatched I'm hoping later today I'll see something. I'm kinda starting to worry because I have to go on a flight tomorrow.... Lucky I have someone to watch it (they have chickens so they know what to do).

Wait the chick won't suffocate if it doesn't get out in time right! (Like external pipping)
