4 sq ft is the minimum recommended on here. Bantams can get by with a little less, but on the other hand, areas with snowy and/or extended winters and flocks with roosters will generally need space over the minimum.

I don't know what happen, I know I read off this site that it was 2-3 square feet...I'm hoping we can add on to our coop. My husband is not going to be happy...

Few years ago when I started with chickens I found the same advice on here as you. My coop is 8 x4 with a 12 x 12 run for 12 birds. So don't feel bad. I went 2 yrs with that - but only 1 roo. It's fine. I say fine because it isn't great. Feather picking issues started in January each year but only with a pair of the more aggressive breeds I have. That's when I learned more protein in the diet is necessary. I eventually got rid of those birds and put more thought into which breeds I have. My flock gets a lot of freerange time also except in the winter so that is where issues tend to start.
2 Roos with that setup is going to be hard on your girls.
Hmm, I didn't intend on getting two Roos but that is what I have so...I either need to harvest one of the roosters or get a bigger coup? Those are my options? could I make a smaller coop for just the Roosters?
