Overgrown beak?

I recently wrote about my Buff that I found upside down in the coop. Now it seems like she can't open her beak, she sticks her tongue out to catch water drips and to take the vitamins. Any solutions?

If is only the beak that needs to be trimmed you can do it very easily with nail clippers. I usually use dog nail clippers, but regular ones will work too. Just make sure the clippers are very sharp so that the beak does not crack when you clip it. I have never had this happen before, so it should not be a problem for you either.

Just clip back enough of the beak so that the bottom and top portions of the beak are equal in length. If done right, the beak will not bleed. However, it might be a good idea to keep some flour close at hand just in case.

You can also use a dremel tool, but there seems to be a bigger risk using that than there is using a nail clipper.

I thought of that, the nail clippers, that is what they use on my parrots. Anyway, the Buff's beak "clicks" when she tried to eat. The bottom seems longer then the top and sharp. I moistened some of her food and fed her from spoon, she ate some but I don't think that it was enough, I got a syringe today with some hand feed food for parrots to try tomorrow.
