This is the part of farming I dislike

So now what? He can't go on like this it's just not fair to him. What do you suggest we do?

Let me know,

Ok, this is hard

Well you can take him to the EMergency vet, but that will run you big bucks(but its for the animals good). OR you can just cull him, and take him out of his suffering. I know he has a great home, and THANK GOD that you took out time for him. But I'd take him to the vet, just to get a general idea of what happened...

Hope he gets a lot better

Good vibes, and he is in my prayers

I found my favorite pullet jammed under a small log a few weeks ago. I thought it had fallen on her and squashed her. I pulled her body out and she was still alive, but acted like you are talking about, listless, couldn't use one side. I blocked her in a small area and allowed her to just rest for a few hours. She did not appear hot. I think someone tried to beat her up and she hid under the log. Anyhow, long story short, a few hours later she was wobbly but able to bumble around. I put her in a small cage with my mille fleur cockerel that everyone hates and wants to beat up. I figured he would not be mean to her, he was still peeping. I checked on her the next morning and she was 100% recovered. I left her in with him for a few days just to be safe. She is out now with the general population and is doing fine.
Hope yours turns out as well. Don't be so quick to cull, give him a chance.

Try to keep him comfortable, eating and drinking and see what happens over the next few days. Is he eating and drinking on his own yet? The birds piled on top of him may have given him temporary nerve damage (I can hope). Does he seem in any pain? You can add aspirin to his water. 5 regular (325 mg) aspirin (NO SUBSTITUTES) crushed per gallon of water.

I am so sorry for your loss. Poor guy......but you tried, and thats what counts. he is now scratching around the big barnyard, over the Rainbow Bridge.
