Overnight Water Issue

It sounds like your waterer is leaking. I have the plastic gallon size ones with the red screw on bottom trays and if it isn't screwed on evenly it will leak.

We have the red plastic tray that screws onto a quart jar. If it's sitting on a slope it can let too much water out and eventually empty it all out onto the ground. Now I make sure it's level.

Could the chicks be mimicking the behavior of the ducks overnight and splashing about in their waterer? I have marbles in the chicks waterer so they don't drown if they fall asleep with their head in the water! (Yes, they really will do that.)

Make sure you screw the jar in tight enough. If it is loose it can leak.
