It's a brand of triple antibiotic, a topical medicine used for infections. Any sort of triple antibiotic should work, and would probably also be found at a feed store.

I found this at walmart just wanted to post because several things i've read said it was hard to find. Chlorhexidine is a chemical antiseptic It is also useful against fungi and enveloped viruses.and is better than hydrogen peroxide as it won't kill healthy flesh.

Vitamin E oil will heal fast, leave no scars and takes away the pain. I use it on myself. It was used on a bad cut on the neck of a pony and healed well without scars.

SafeDo Owls Carry Disease??? Once This Chick Is Healed WIll It Be Safe To Eat AS Well As Put Back Out With Other Chickens?

get vetericyn spray. yoou can get online at amazon or maybe feed store its a GREAT wound and skin care spray. id also give her a general antibotic to keep infection down and promote healing such as a ANTI_INFECTIVE like GALLIMYCIN PFC water soluble. you can get this online also. a GREAT source for online chicken antibotics is first state vet supplies. Gallimycine is erythromycin. This is what id do if she were mine. both these products together and she will heal in no time flat!! best wishes

i've been treating my chick with erythromycin, hibiclens, neosporin and the vetericyn spray that was recommended... she was getting better starting to stand up and everything and she died in my arms today after giving her a quick wash off with the cleansers i've been using???? I'm so distraught cuz she was getting better what would cause her to just die like that it was slow because i thought she had just went to sleep while i was putting neosporin and the spray on after pulling off scabs...because she had like three on her back one long one on her neck and one on her breast right under her wing... i know she was dead because i waited and waited watching to see if she was breathing but she never did i sprinkled cold water on her and nothing???

I had three chickens two rooster and one hen. They survive a dog attack back in Febuary (my sister in law had 35+ chickens in a heavy plastic coop and little space they had no where to go).
This morning my mother found the hen died and a rooster missing. We're both upset by it because we nurse the hen and roosters back to health after the dog attack back in Febuary.
Now the hen was killed and one rooster gone. Around 1pm my mother text me at work said she found the rooster in the road up ways from our house. Feathers were all gone off his neck, part of his comb was missing and he is also missing an eye.
I cleaned the area put Triple Antibodtic ointment on his neck and guze bandage on his neck.
They had been setting on top of the chicken house we put them up but they get back on top of it.
They are both in the house to night.
Two question: how can we stop owls and hawks from getting them.
What more can I do for the rooster ? Can I give him a pain pill?
