Just a little confused about the different uses. I'm reading lots of 1/8 tsp (unactivated) per gallon for drinking water.... Should I use that same ratio to mist them, or make it a little stronger? And if I want to clean the coop, what is a good ratio to use for that purpose? Thanks. The simpler the response, the better! :p

1/8 teaspoon per gallon is all that is needed, especially for misting over the birds' heads, same for coops. Oxine is very potent as you know.

Thank you. That was my gut feeling, but I'd read of other people doubling that dose for different reasons, or even using it full strength! Didn't seem right to me... I'll stick with the 1/8 tsp and leave it at that.

I been reading that you do 1 teaspoon for a gallon to clean pens, spray chickens and spray shoes. What about the drinking water?

Read the link Dawg53 posted. Buy the Oxine and follow label instructions. For premise treatment the label states 3.25 oz per gallon of water.. I've been using it for a long time. I use about 7 drops per gallon of drinking water every so often. If I mist birds, I use an industrial strength hand held quart sprayer containing 3/4 oz of Oxine per quart of water. I can also use this to clean troughs, or any other equipment.

Sorry to revisit this again, but I'm still pretty confused as to the dosing. The above mentioned link "The Many Uses of Oxine" states 1/8 tsp/gal for the duck pond water, and 1/8 tsp/gal for the chicken drinking water, but does not specify dosage in the next paragraph for fogging. I've seen everything in the forums from 6.5 oz/gal, to 3.25 oz/gal, to 1/8 tsp/gal. Huge differences! Just want to see what people have to say.
Thank you!
