I think he's more trying to say war is not a smart idea. I don't think he's trying to attack military personnel.

How are those oxymorons? Mainly: clearly misunderstood, friendly fire, found missing, and jumbo shrimp.

An oxymoron is a combination of contradictory words. (noun)
An example of oxymoron is "definite maybe."

He wasn't aiming it at the individual military personnel. Much like how on the news they might bomb a place and say they had military intelligence stating that some important person was there, yet after it was bombed the important person would not be found there.
