Oxymorons

Are you calling my husband stupid? I really dont appreciate that. He is in the Army for 16 years and a true professional.

Relax, it was just uniform humor for us, like many other things we would say, like complaining troops are happy troops nothing derogatory was meant by it. Security Police USAF '70 thru '74. Vietnam '71 '72. I am glad to see these men and women getting the honor and support they deserve rather than being shunned and called all sorts of names.

An oxymoron is two words used together that when you think about it don't make any sense or contradict each other. Like military intelligence or Microsoft Works (it doesn't, more often than not) to name two examples.

I like "professional musician" myself.

And, I play music "professionally", so I am allowed to laugh.

Would professional gamer count?

it can be an oxymoron in a humorous context.

just like "professional player"

since one word hints at work while the other hints at play making it an oxymoron when taken out of context, which most of these are. That is what makes this game so fun. Two words that mean different things but when put together they can mean something else.

That was a good one Mathew.
