Oyster shell or ground fish for laying duck.

me too! If I were you I would also get some calcium gluconate for those special times when the duck gets egg bound and you're panicking not know what to do. You can get it from Tractor Supply or online.

That stuff is a life saver for an egg bound duck!
Refrigerator after using or it will grow mold. Don't ask me how I know this. :lau

Thanks guys, now I know I should get the coarsely crushed shells.
I'll also look into calcium gluconate. I heard the highest risk of getting egg-bound is when the duck just started laying.
That may be true but I had a big problem a couple of months ago with one of my older ones and then just yesterday I had issues with one of my young and another old one. I guess my point is that it's a good thing to have on hand because you never know!

I did not know that! Thanks for that valuable information. I hate that because now I'll have to walk a long way to get it but it is worth it! Maybe I need a duck refrigerator in my garden shed so I don't have to walk so far. My husband will have me committed!

You're right, it's good to have for ducks of all ages.

I just realized I confused egg-binding with vent prolapse. My bad. :bow
