We have dealt with prolapse...and unfortunately we were such noobs that we didn't know what to do. Our pullet, Roxanne, on her first egg was egg bound. We knew something was wrong so my hubby called a guy on his job that has chickens. He told my hubby to help Roxanne lay. He did this ( a cute lil off-white egg) but then that membrane never went back in as it is supposed to. My hubby's friend said to leave her and it will go back in. Well the next day it was still out and my DH went out there and cleaned it for her and we waited. Later that afternoon she died. We went online to try and figure out what happened and in turns out we needed to K-Y the membrane and push it back in for her. It was a tough lesson learned. Our other pullet is 32 weeks ad has yet to lay. I think she is scarred....I am not gonna try and do anything to get her to lay I am sure she'll do it in her on time.
