Oyster shell

I serve it in a pail. 20170807_100056.jpg . But directions on the bag says you can mix 1# of oyster shell to 20# of non layers feed. GC

I have a question about oyster shell also. I feed a multiflock with oyster shell in its own spot in the coup with food and water. How much is normal for them to eat? I have 19 total, 2 are roosters, they are 6 months and 12 are laying. I bought the small bag like 5 lb bag 6 weeks ago and have only had to refill it twice. All eggs have good shells at this point, but was wondering if that is a normal intake. I do occasionally feed them eggs shells too. They usually clean that up. Thank for any info!

I have 5 hens and the last 5# bag lasted 11 months, but I also feed a layers feed. It wouldn't last as long with a non layers feed.
You can get a 50# bag of oyster shell at TSC for $10. GC
