One of my chicken's eggs are a little soft. They get good quality layer pellets. I bought some oyster shell for the soft-egger. Can they all eat it or will it be too much combined with the layer pellets? Should I just throw some in the run every few days, or have it always available?

I have a separate feeder for oyster shell and they just help themselves. Chickens are pretty smart when it comes to edible products!

I feed oyster shells in a pig feeder hung on the wall of the coup. They take what they need for nice hard egg shells. The pellets dont have enough calcium for good shells.
