I sent eggs to Gumpsgirl who lives less than 3 HOURS from my house. I delivered them to the PO first thing Monday morning and she got them Thursday! HOW does Priority Mail take 4 days to go less than 3 hours... and yep they were all scrambled inside.

Geez...I hate to hear about lost, scrambled eggs. I think we probably have all been there. I ordered a pair of peafowl hens to be overnighted to me and it took them almost 48 hours to get to the main PO where I asked that they be held (about 1/2 hour drive for me). If I had waited for them to get to my local PO they would have probably been in a sad state.

One good thing about this subject is that you are opening up to the possibilities that this could happen to "me". Also, well, hopefully keep in mind that communication between the 2 doing business. Communication such as those simple words... Sent today box of ___ , or Received ___ today. We often forget that even us online folks lose our Internet from a car accident, rain, snow and tornado's. Those acts of nature frustrate the seasoned buyer/seller.
Good luck to all!

I got eggs sent to me from pop57, who lives about 2 or 3 hours from me. They took a full week to get here!! I am still waiting on eggs sent from OK on Monday, just received eggs today that were sent from AR on Monday, and the same person in AR that sent me eggs finally today got the eggs that I sent to her on Saturday!!!

I wonder if it has something to do with the 'holiday'? Would Easter slow the mail down?

And aren't they supposed to scan the barcode when they accept them? Or only when they deliver them?

I just don't understand why the post office gives tracking numbers if they don't use them to track packages. I love the way you can see where something is going through FedEx and UPS. Why can't the USPS take some lessons from them? I'm sorry, just frustrated about my eggs I was really expecting today. I mean you pay extra money to get something delivered quick, and they don't follow through with their side of it. I can't even get a human on the phone. Just a stupid recording that basically sends me around in circles. Drives me nuts!! I'm hoping my eggs get here tomorrow. 4 days is long enough on something that was supposed to only take 2-3. Very frustrating.

Tomorrow (4/10) is a postal holiday...

I received eggs today, but I was so worried they were going to sit until Saturday or Monday. I've actually had better luck shipping eggs on Fridays - they arrive Monday or Tuesday. But at least if they DO take a week to get there, they get there on a weekday when someone can do something about it.

I'm sorry, Marie, that your buyer wasn't more understanding... things like that happen all the time. Those of us that have shipped in/out a lot of eggs totally understand the frustration.

I didn't even realize it's a holiday!!! Our local PO isn't even open on Saturdays. They put mail in boxes, but they don't open the package window. Now I have to wait till Monday. I hope they are still good by then. I've been running my bator to get the temps and everything just right since Monday night. Now I don't know if I should turn it off and turn it back on Sunday. Very, very frustrating.

keesmom, I just checked the PO web site, its says both boxes have been forwarded. I've got no idea what that means.

Miss Jayne sent me her eggs on the 30th of March (that's what they were post marked) and it took until April 6th for them to arrive! That's an entire week from Michigan to Phoenix. I wonder if someone in the P.O. didn't set them to the side or something for a few days.

I got some from South Carolina in two days and from Houston in two days. Go figure.

Hey I still have packages that are missing from 2 years ago. I have a sprouting business and I sent out a shipment of sprouts out 2 years ago. 17 customers never got their sprouts. The post office has no idea what happened to them.
