Pacific Northwest Poultry Association double show, Salem, OR Oct 13-14, 2012

After thinking about it, I have decided not do to do Showmanship. I started a new level for 4-H and I need more time to learn. So I decided that while I'm there, I'll pick up some Polish Frizzle chicks from Michelle, and enter my birds in confirmation. I really want to see how my Frizzle will do, aprently she has real nice confirmation according to judges and my 4-H leader. So basically then I don't fill out any of the stuff about the levels on the form if I'm not doing showmanship?
I have found that for my 4-H kids, the best way to learn is to do it, and be asked the questions...how will you know just what things you need to study if you aren't asked the questions by an actual judge? I always try to prepare my kids the best I can, but I never know just what they will be asked until they are at the table...

Hmm.... OK. I think I've got it figured out. But so the bird I'm doing showmanship with, I would enter her in 1 show then, because she can't do confimation? Sorry to keep asking you all these questions, I've never been to a PNPA show.
No, you do not put her on the form at all, you just show up with her, and they will tell you where to put her, and you sign yourself up on the showmanship list.

I'd love to, but they have changed things and don't let you edit your original posts the way they used to...you can still change the body of the post, but can't change the title.... :/

Thanks Sheila...sorry I didn't respond to your earlier message..I've been around here long enough that I probably have the permissions to post a .pdf, but I wouldn't know how.... ;)

That's okay, thank you!! If anyone would like them, I can always e-mail. It's weird that you can attach photo's / video's but not a pdf.

So far we are planning on coming! I know my family will make it even if I have to work but when I asked my boss today, she pretty much said I can get the days off but it wasn't a 100% yes though. It looks like we'll be doing midnight driving again based on work schedules but it will be fun. So far we're just planning on bringing some bantam phoenix, call ducks, maybe a buckeye. I plan to come home with some birds to add to breeding projects around here, we'll just have to see if anyone has what I am looking for (which I am still not certain how many and of what I am after)

I still haven't sent in my entry form. I'm debating taking a Barred Plymouth Rock that I got at the County Fair from a friend. She doesn't nessceraily have great confirmation, but it would be easier to quartine them if I brought her after the show.

Hey guys. I am planing to come to this show with my sister, but can't find any info on it. All we know is what our 4-H leader knows, which isn't much. Is it at the state fair grounds? Or is it some place else? What is the address? Is there a web sight for the show? (I've done a lot of looking and couldn't find one) And last but not least, how much money dose it cost to just come look around?
Thanks in advance
Hannah :)
