Pacific Northwest Poultry Association double show, Salem, OR Oct 13-14, 2012

Well my DH has said that we can go down to the show. He's even giving up a clam dig for it. Now I know that the only reason is because he's hoping to find some heritage brahmas. He likes big chickens.

I still have not gotten a confirmation from my boss that I will have the weekend off but I have a backup plan if I can't get it off...... "*cough* *cough*, sorry boss, I caught the bug that has been going around work and *cough* can't make it in today and I feel horrible so I might miss tomorrow too *cough* *cough*"

I used to show dogs also. Then I showed cats (TICA). Do you still show dogs? What breed(s)? I showed Pomeranians and Havanese. We really didn't need to buy a Suburban. What I really wanted was a canopy for one of our pick ups but since I couldn't find a used one, it was going to cost $1000. We wouldn't use it often so instead we spent $3K on a whole vehicle we probably won't use very often..... go figure. I think the burban will be great for the shows and the chickens will have the benefit of heat or a/c.
I, now, show Poms (been showing since 1979, Mals & Sibs but had to give them up when my spinal condition progressed to the point that I could no longer care for them). One of my puppies, 11 months- at his first show this year- took two Group 1's and one BIS. I was pretty thrilled. My dogs LOVE the MH as much as I do. It's their home away from home. One of my Rescue's, Sampson, stays on the dash (when parked). He loves being higher than everyone else.

We bought an Expedition last year for going to shows, and I love it so much it has become my daily driver.

Don't love the gas pump, but whatever...I love my V8! LOL

I know what you mean. When I had a travel trailer, I bought a Jeep Limited (V8) to pull it. Fell in love with the Jeep and am selling my Grand Caravan now. While my Jeep's V8 is a bit smaller than yours, I still love that growly sound that it makes. What surprised me is that it's gas mileage is only a little off from the V6 Caravan. Did not expect that!

Of course, if you want to get a REAL pump shock, fill up a Motorhome. Ouch!! I was also lucky with it. It gets 10 - 11 MPG and is 32 feet long. That is SERIOUSLY great for one that size.

Sheila :)

I had a whole lot of changes to my plans, Homecoming dances, house guests coming, cataract surgery for MIL so I won't be bring anything for judging but I'll be there to look and asking lots of questions and hopefully learning alot.
