Pacific Northwest Poultry Association double show, Salem, OR Oct 13-14, 2012

Well I certainly would have rented a whole sale area if I had known that was a possibility. I didn't realize u could do that for selling chickens, I thought they had to be limited to the sale cages and the shows I have been to the sale cages were always sold out. I will just stick with what I have I guess and see how it works out. Though like I said I do understand the need to cover costs and I was more than willing to buy multiple cages so there wouldn't be any issues with this but I didn't want to use up a large area and limit those available to other people....... I was trying to be fair.

I also understand the many reasons why dealing chickens out of ur car is not allowed. Purely for health and safety reasons as well as the shaddyness of it and that wasn't what I was asking to do. I was simply wanting to list what I had there so people would know I had what they were looking for and I could bring it in if it wasn't already inside upon request so they could inspect it INSIDE. That way I wouldn't have to keep rotating them out like u were saying.

I was just trying to rehome a few extra birds I have now so I don't have to transport them all the way down to the swap but if there will be such a problem with this I will only bring what has been "pre-sold" and a couple extra silkies.....

Well, then I guess I'm sticking with Silkies and Polish Frizzles. The sale area will be open tomorrow, right?
Also, do you guys recommend washing a bird tonight vs. tomorrow morning? I always wash my Frizzle right before the show because I blow dry her, but I'm debating how long it will take for a Bantam Wyandotte to dry.
We always try to wash birds the week before the show so they have time to get all the natural oils back and all that good stuff. I have been known to take a blow dryer with me to shows just to give silkies and frizzles that extra poof.

Hi there,
I will be coming to the show on Sunday only, due to work. I am interested in picking up a a pair or trio of breeding quality Blue/Splash or Porcelain Silkies or even just a hen of each color. I am also interested in BLRW pullets, no splash of good lines. I have a good start, just looking for a few more ladies. The darker the better with proper combs feet etc. Anybody have any of the above that they can bring? Please pm me what you have and cost etc. Thanks! Can't wait for the show.

Please note that (normally) There really isn't much going on Sunday except coop out. While the dates say 13-14 From my experience (which is limited) the show is basically done Saturday and Sunday is just awards Early and coop out. I am not trying to discourage you just don't want you to get there and be disappointed!

Hey BTW How is your DD doing in 4-H with the bird(s) WE helped you get for her at the show in Chehalis??? Maybe we could get a progress report and some pics!!! Even if on the OR or WA thread so this doesn't go off topic.

I understand. The main reason I was coming was to pick up some birds from someone who was going to be attending the show already. I wish I could go friday or saturday but have to work to support my chicken habit! I plan on showing up fairly early on Sunday. What time can I enter?

Does anyone know what the policy is for "in car camping"? I know there is a fee for Campers/mobiles, but a car wouldn't be hooked up to any water or electricity. Anyone know?
