packing peanuts question...

I ordered 12 Barr Rock Pullets from Ideal that arrived on Nov. 5. They put in 7 RIR cockerels. these chickens are approaching 15 weeks now. One of the Barr Rocks pullets ended up being a cockerel. I paid the $7 small order charge, but don't mind. I'm not going to keep any roosters with my laying hens so now I'll get 8 fryers in my freezer the end of next week that I hadn't planned on when I ordered the chicks.

Someone on my local FreeCycle offered 8 3-week old rooster chicks. I replied, asking for more details, & found out these were sent to him as packing peanuts with his recent Ideal order. He says they're black with white spots...? Maybe Black Sex-links? I'm going to pick them up tomorrow, looking forward to 8 new dinner guests in the months to come.
