Maybe see an ENT to check out the eustachian tubes. Did an ent put the tubes in? Oddly it does not seem like medical folks want to do much for ear issues any more.

I had tubes for a month or so after the adenoid operation. I was warned that the tubes would cause infections and to stay out of the water. I was very happy to have them removed

It is just my right ear that is a problem. Yes, i have to keep water out of that ear due to the tube. It looks ok, Dr. checked it a few days ago. Just irritated due to the infection. I was supposed to get ear drops but insurance won't pay and the Dr. just gave me another Rx for antibiotic pills. The drops work so much better on my infections.

Is it possible your ear doctor has any samples of the drops your insurance won't pay for?

My eye doctor loaded me with samples when I had cataracts removed - helped a lot- expense wise.

I have not been to an ear Dr. recently. And it would be next year before i could get an appointment. Plus i will have new insurance so i will have a big deductible again. But good idea.
