Paint Silkies ~ European Lines

thank you brody i am with beth g she says you have very nice silkies!!! she is my relative and i help her clean and do farm chores when she is not feeling well. she has silkies and got me hooked but all she does is want to give them ot me for free and wont let me pay so i wnet and bought them on here. so i am glad i have her to help me. she has offered to lend her birds for my granbabies to show but i think it is important for them to get to know the bird if they want to do the showmanshop right? so borrowing for a show i dont think will help them bond or leanr the bird i could be wrong but thats why i buying them their own

Amazing how peoples perceptions vary...you were not attacked by any means...you posted a bad oc of the roo that made him appear splash...don't think anyone came across as a know-it all..the best part is you have still failed to answer the simple question; have u hatched from this pairing? If so what results did u get

Nobody attacked anyone .There were questions about the bird and it's color and background that was all.I am soo new to paints and have not bred any yet and I sure don't want to start off my breeding project on the wrong foot and have to start again from scratch because I added a paint with too much leakage into it by not knowing better. It isn't a matter of insulting the birds as he is very pretty in his own right, but from all I have been told and read you want as clean a bird as you can get so that you breed out the buff and off coloring. My understanding of the posts is :have you hatched from them yet and what was the result: Your answer was NO because you have eggs in the incubator and haven't seen the results of said breeding yet. There is certainly no reason to take the posts and turn them into something they are not.Bob and April were is asking questions that should be answered if for no other reason then for the buyer's peace of mind.

and buyers certainly can ask. I have hatched from the individual hens with great results but when using a new roo, all bets are off. I did say fertility was checked (and it is checked by growing some eggs which I am)

American paints are those that were bred in TN by Judy Lee, they are from a dominant (standard white) silkie with a Blue? Not sure exactly, but the story is posted on the beginning of the American thread by Judy.
Euro paints were imported Euro paint birds by Jerry Schexley (sorry spelling here) and when several generations from the first cross of a Leghorn x Silkie. They have a euro standard look, smaller crest, sometimes non-brearded, more active temperments etc. He has bred these together & crossed with standard color bearded silkies, ie black etc.
So those terms are for where the stock originated, TN aka American or Euro imports. Hope this helps!
