Paint Silkies?

As far as I know they were developed here in Holland and if I understood the breeding thread on them at our dutch group the exchequer leghorn was used in their creation... there is a very long thread on it at the dutch group > here is the thread on it (VERY long but some nice photos) where they are discussing it:
http://www.kippenforum.nl/phpBB3/vi...st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=platenbont+zijdehoenders
...I doubt the translaters will be able to help you much but you can give it a try.

I think I had searched it on google one day and read about it. A quick search and I found some interesting info...

European Silkie show with paints, lavenders, etc: http://www.aviculture-europe.nl/nummers/09E02A09.pdf

I
don't remember what my search terms were last time to look up where I found that info last time. But I remember it saying that only a handful in the US were breeding them and that they expected it to be about 10 more years (I don't remember if they were perfecting them or just breeding a bunch to increase the numbers here in the US) before we would likely see any.

Great Pictures! Wish I were able to understand more of what they are saying! Thanks so much for sharing.
