Hello all. My landlord hired some painters to paint the roofs of a few barns around our house and it’s pretty close to where we keep our chickens.
We have an area in the run to separate our younger chickens from our older so they can get to know each other, and while my younger ones were in their area, the painters painted the roof of a barn right next to them, resulting in paint being splattered in their area and on top of them. They don’t have a lot of paint on them, just light sprinkle like spots but I’m mad. They’re all acting fine right now but I’m worried about the fumes effecting them as well.
They’re all currently in their coop where the smell is decreased but not gone completely.
How concerned should I be? I’m not sure what kind of paint they're using but they’re painting metal roofs, so that may narrow down the type.
