I have a hen who has a pale comb. She wheezes and opens her mouth often to breathe. She also "honks" instead of clucks. (Therefore, we named her Duck.)
She's the most active hen we have. She eats and drinks a lot. She also lays eggs each day. What could be wrong with her?
We swabbed her throat for gapeworms and found nothing. We've been putting VetRX on her beak and under her wings. It's supposed to "open her sinuses."
I don't know what to do with her. I've got her in the garage right now and I've been feeding her warm oatmeal, kefir, bananas, yogurt....anything that might help if she's sick.
Please let me know what ideas you have.
