Definitely some sorta mix—gonna keep it separate til I know it’s safe to move in w the other birds.Then the color is definitely an issue with time of year and day length.
And likely not a pure BR.

Thank you!Post those pictures in the "what breed and gender is this?" forum and see what replies u get. The bird has some red leakage in the wings, which is usually the sign of a cockerel. Also the saddle feathers look a bit suspicious to me. If the bird really is 5-6 months old, then i agree yes a pullet. If the bird is around 4 months old, could be a late-blooming boy. After u post pics in "breed and gender" forum, u should get a lot of replies. There are experts in that forum that specialize in gender i.d. Im not arguing with the "hen" opinion, just not
