I found a dead hen in my coop today. Didnt notice anything wrong with birds but after I found the dead one I started looking closer at the others and a couple of them have pale combs. Is this a problem???

Alright... I'm still a newbie here, but you GOTTA give more info!!!!
Where do you live, how's the coop (dry environment?), how old are your girls, what breed, I'm sure there's more that people will ask:)

illinois, dry coop, use DE alot, 3 white leghorns, 6 golden comets, 3 easter eggers, 2 black astrolops, 1 rhode island red, 1 easter egger rooster. all about 6-7 months old. 1 leghorn is the one that died

I'm sure someone with more experience will pop in, my first thought is worms. Have you wormed them? Maybe give some poli vi sol without iron to perk them up.

Anything noticeably wrong with the dead leghorn? parasites?
I'm sorry I'm still not much help, but thought I'd bump ya.
pale combs.... add electrolytes to their water at least.

anyone else?

If it is worms should we have eaten the eggs?? I guess what I am asking is can humans get worms from the eggs of an infected chicken????

I did find some funny looking poo a couple of days ago. I checked what it looked like on the poo page and it was EXACTLY like one with intestinal shedding. Normal tho right???????

Give us the following information. The more you tell us, the better we will be able to help you.

1) What type of bird , age and weight.
2) What is the behavior, exactly.
3) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma.
4) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation.
5) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all.
6) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc.
7) What has been the treatment you have administered so far?
8 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet?
9) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.
10) Describe the housing/ Size of coop and run. How many birds in this area.
11) What kind of bedding do you use?
12) Have you wormed your birds?
13) Have you checked for lice, mites, scaley leg?
14) Lifting up the bird, does it feel heavy or light?
